Operating System

An Operating System (OS) is a system software that acts as an interface between

computer hardware and the user. It manages hardware resources and provides
essential services for computer programs.

Operating system is of two types:

1. Single-User Operating System

A single-user operating system is designed to be used by only one user at a
time. It does not support multiple user accounts running simultaneously.

2. Multi-User Operating System

A multi-user operating system allows multiple users to access the computer
system simultaneously or at different times. It manages and separates each

user's tasks and data.

Microsoft Windows

Windows is the most popular operating system used nowadays. It is a special

program that controls the working of a computer. There are various versions of
Windows like Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows

8, and Windows 10.
