            Monitor

            This screen is called a Monitor.


            A monitor has following features:
              •  It displays whatever we type.


              •  It has an On/Off button.
              •  It is also known as Visual Display Unit (VDU).


              •  A Monitor looks like a TV screen.
            Computer monitors are of the following types:


              •  CRT (Cathode Ray Tube): These monitors are bigger, heavier, bulkier, and
                  consume more power. They are prone to screen flicker.

              •  LCD (Liquid Crystal Display): These monitors consume less power and have

                  a crisp, flicker-free display.


            Keyboard

              •  A  keyboard  is  used  to  type  numbers  and

                  letters.
              •  It  is  also  used  to  give  instructions  and

                  commands to the computer.


            CPU (Central Processing Unit)

            The CPU is the brain of a computer which helps to remember

            everything.

            The CPU helps a computer to:

              •  Process and perform various operations.

              •  Store data and information.
