Controlling Machines and Physical Devices (Robotics)
AI is used to control physical systems like robots and smart devices. In robotics, AI
enables machines to:
• Assemble products
• Navigate environments
• Assist in surgeries
A prime example is self-driving cars, where AI processes sensor and camera inputs
to drive safely.
Types of Artificial Intelligence
1. Narrow AI (Weak AI)
• The most common and currently existing form of AI.
• Designed for specific tasks only.
• Cannot perform tasks beyond its programmed
purpose.
Examples: Siri, Alexa, recommendation systems, facial recognition, spam filters.
2. General AI (Strong AI)
• Advanced form of AI (still theoretical).
• Can think, understand, learn, and apply knowledge
across a wide range of tasks—like a human.
• Could adapt to unfamiliar situations and make
decisions like humans.
3. Super AI
• A hypothetical form of AI that goes far beyond human
intelligence.
• Would outperform humans in decision-making,
problem-solving, creativity, emotional intelligence,
and self-awareness.
• Raises concerns about control, ethics, and safety.
• Still a future concept, not developed yet.
