From the childhood little Dipa loved to climb trees, to run and play with her

            sister, Puja-didi.

Dipa Karmakar lived in Agartalą, a small city in Northeast India. Dipa’s
father was a weightlifter and had won many medals in weightlifting. Later,

he began to give training to other weightlifters. Dipa would often go along

with him to the sports centre where he trained them. At the age of five

Dipa started learning a sport called gymnastics.
