Sentence Synthesis
Sentence Synthesis is a way of combining two or more sentences into a new sentence that
conveys the same meaning. It helps to make writing more interesting and less repetitive.
Example 1:
• Simple Sentences: The sun set. The sky turned orange.
• Synthesised Sentence: As the sun set, the sky turned orange.
Example 2:
• Simple Sentences: Maria was excited. She planned the trip for months.
• Synthesised Sentence: Maria, who planned the trip for months, was excited.
Example 3:
• Simple Sentences: The car broke down. We called for help.
• Synthesised Sentence: When the car broke down, we called for help.
A. Combine the following pairs of sentences into a single sentence.
1. The sun was setting. It painted the sky in beautiful colours.
2. The teacher was impressed. She gave us a lot of homework.
3. The company was facing financial difficulties. They had to lay off some employees.
