Preface

Knowledge is food for the mind and power for the brain. The journey of
learning begins best with general knowledge—knowing a little about many
things. The Kaveri Book of General Knowledge is a carefully graded series
of eight books designed as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for
the young learners of the 21st century.

This series aims to open the doors to global education and satisfy a child’s
natural curiosity in a fun and inspiring way. It encourages children to explore
the wonders of nature, human achievements in science, art, culture, sports, and
more. At the same time, it helps them build essential 21st-century skills such

as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, curiosity, and lifelong learning.

Children love games—and learning through games makes knowledge even
more exciting! Keeping this in mind, the series introduces engaging board
games within chapters so that learning becomes both playful and enjoyable.

The books also nurture respect for nature, awareness about the environment,
and a sense of responsibility as global citizens. The Did You Know? sections

provide fascinating facts to spark curiosity and enrich the child’s knowledge.

With simple language and colourful illustrations, each unit is thoughtfully
presented to make learning easy, stress-free, and enjoyable. Every page is
designed to interest, engage, and inspire children to know more.

This series is our sincere effort to help children grow from simple schooling

towards true scholarship, in harmony with the vision of India’s new education
system.
