The computer is an electronic machine that touches every aspect of our life, making
it fast, easier, and comfortable. We rely on computers for most of our daily work.
Components of a Computer System
A computer system consists of Hardware and Software.
Hardware
All the physical parts of a computer are called hardware. They are divided into many
types depending on their function. These can be classified as:
• Input Devices
• Processing Devices
• Output Devices
• Storage Devices
Software
Software is a set of instructions that tells the computer how the work has to be
done. A computer cannot work without software. A computer, being a machine,
knows nothing.
Types of Computer Hardware
Computer hardware can be categorized into the following types:
• Input Devices
• Output Devices
• Processing Devices
• Storage Devices
