12 Kids are Wise!

                                         ...
                         I can sing
                         I can sing...
The poem describes the emotions and experiences of a child
feeling irritated. It also reflects the challenges of single

parenting or caring for a child.

The cranky kid cried all day.

            Its dad tried several ways
To console–then he found a way.

There was a door in the house,
            That had several decorative bells.

With them, he made the kid to play.

Lo; it was happy for the rest of the day.

            The new morrow dawned,

            The kid was cranky again.

Dad thought the door will work,

The kid was again shown the bells.

It yelled to his surprise without end.

‘‘Not now, not now, this I don’t want

            Make me play this yesterday.’’

            Whoever said kids aren’t wise?

They speak the dilemma of modern science.

            Lost in the cosmology dream,

As also the thoughts of ancient saints. —Madathil Rajendran Nair
