How do we use quotation marks

We use quotation marks to quote the exact words spoken by someone, or taken
from a piece of writing. They are used in pairs. There will always be an opening
                      mark and a closing mark.

For example : My mother said, ‘‘Be careful while crossing the road.’’

The teacher said, ‘‘Do your exam well.’’
We use quotation marks when writing the titles of stories, poems, articles or
                      speeches.

For example : I like the story ‘The Jungle Book’ of Rudyard Kipling.
My brother likes William Wordsworth’s poem ‘Daffodils’.
