                                                           Modifiers

            Modifiers are words or groups of words that add information to another word in a sentence.

            They provide details to make the meaning clearer and more specific.
                                                    Types of Modifiers

            Adjectives

            Adjectives describe or give more information about nouns and pronouns. They answer questions
            like ‘‘Which one?’’, ‘‘What kind?’’, and ‘‘How many?’’.
            Examples:

                 •    The blue sky looked beautiful. (Blue describes the sky.)
                 •    She adopted a small dog. (Small describes the dog.)

                 •    There are seven apples on the table. (Seven tells how many apples.)
            Adverbs

            Adverbs  modify  verbs,  adjectives,  or  other  adverbs.  They  answer  questions  like  ‘‘How?’’,
            ‘‘When?’’, ‘‘Where?’’, ‘‘To what extent?’’, and ‘‘Why?’’.

            Examples:
                 •    He ran quickly to catch the bus. (Quickly modifies the verb 'ran'.)
                 •    She is very happy with her results. (Very modifies the adjective 'happy'.)
