9 Government The Government of India has launched several
initiatives aimed at promoting social welfare,
Initiatives for addressing poverty, improving education and
health, and ensuring the overall development of
Social Welfare marginalized sections of society.
1 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a flagship housing
scheme launched by the Government of India in 2015. It aims to
provide affordable housing for all by 2022, particularly targeting
the economically weaker sections (EWS), low-income groups
(LIG), and middle-income groups (MIG). The scheme is part of
the government’s broader initiative to improve urban and rural
housing infrastructure.
2 Make in India is a flagship initiative launched by the
Government of India in September 2014 to encourage both
domestic and international companies to manufacture
products in India. The campaign aims to transform India
into a global manufacturing hub, boost employment, and
increase the country’s GDP.
3 Digital India is a flagship initiative launched by the
Government of India in 2015 aimed at transforming
India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge
economy. The program focuses on leveraging technology
to improve government services, promote digital literacy,
and enhance connectivity across the country.

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) is a joint initiative of the
Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare, and the Ministry of Education, launched
by the Government of India in January 2015. The primary aim is
to tackle the declining child sex ratio (CSR) and to promote the
survival, protection, and education of the girl child.
