Malaria

              1. Parasite-Caused Disease: Malaria is caused by parasites of
the Plasmodium genus, with Plasmodium falciparum and
Plasmodium vivax being the most common. The disease
                   is transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes.

              2. Ancient Disease: Malaria is one of the oldest known
diseases, with references to its symptoms found in
ancient texts from China, Greece, and Rome.
              3. Symptoms: Common symptoms include high fever, chills,
sweating, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Severe cases can
lead to anemia, organ failure, and death.
              4. Antimalarial Drugs: Treatments include antimalarial drugs such as chloroquine, artemisinin-
based combination therapies (ACTs), and quinine, depending on the Plasmodium species
                   and drug resistance patterns.
              5. Global Efforts: Malaria control strategies include the use of insecticide-treated bed nets, indoor
residual spraying, and rapid diagnostic tests to improve early detection and treatment.
