Tell me how?
What makes weather satellite stay in
one place above the Earth ?
People send special satellites into space,
to help in keeping track of the weather.
They fly above the Earth’s equator just
as fast as the Earth is turning. So, they
remain in the exact same spot in the
sky. Weather satellites do not appear
to us to be moving at all, even though
they are flying very fast.
What does a weather satellite do exactly ? Stationary Satellite System
The distribution, height and movement of Stationary satellites are placed in an orbid 225
clouds, the temperature of sea water and other miles (360 km) above the equator, and they
things which affect the weather are watched by move through space at the same speed at which
a weather satellite. It sends this information to the Earth turns.
the weather bureau as radio signals. A weather
satellite also collects weather information from
robot buoys drifting on the sea and from ships
and sends it back to Earth.
