Types of Computers

Computers come in different sizes: The first computer was as big as a room!

1. Desktop Computer

• Also known as a PC (Personal Computer).

• Kept on a desk or a table.

• It has many parts like a CPU, monitor, keyboard,

and mouse.

• Usually found in homes, schools, offices, and shops.

2. Laptop

• A small computer that can be kept on your lap.

• Easy to carry anywhere.

• Works on battery for many hours.

3. Palmtop/ Handheld Computer

• A very small computer that fits in your palm.

• Can be carried in a pocket.

• Looks like mini laptop.

• Use for simple and quick work.

4. Tablet

• Smaller than a laptop, bigger than a palmtop.

• Has a touchscreen.

• Can be used with fingers or a pen-like device.
