15 India's National Heroes
India is home to many great minds who’ve inspired us through their values and
contributions. Can you name these heroes?
1. He is a child rights activist who
founded Bachpan Bachao Andolan
in 1980. He has helped rescue over
83,000 children and was awarded
the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.
2. He is known as the “Metro Man” of
India. He led the building of the Delhi
Metro and Konkan Railway, and has
received the Padma Shri and Padma
Vibhushan.
3. He was the “Father of the White
Revolution” in India. His work on
Operation Flood made India the
world’s largest milk producer.
4. He is an inventor and entrepreneur,
best known as the “Father of the
Pentium Chip” for helping create the
successful Intel Pentium processors.
5. She was one of India’s most
respected playback singers. Her
singing career began in 1942 and
lasted over 70 years. She recorded
songs for more than a thousand Hindi
films and received the Bharat Ratna
