VAISHNO DEVI TEMPLE in Jammu & Kashmir
Situated in the Trikuta Mountains, this temple is dedicated
to Goddess Vaishno Devi, a manifestation of Goddess Durga.
The temple attracts millions of pilgrims every year. Devotees
undertake a challenging trek to reach the cave where the goddess
is worshipped. The temple is believed to grant the wishes of the
devout.
TIRUMALA VENKATESWARA TEMPLE in Tirupati,
Andhra Pradesh
One of the richest temples in the world, this temple is dedicated to
Lord Venkateswara (a form of Vishnu). Situated on Tirumala Hill,
it is part of the Tirupati-Tirumala pilgrimage circuit. Pilgrims offer
hair donations as an act of devotion. The temple is renowned for its
immense wealth and is visited by millions annually.
GOLDEN TEMPLE in Amritsar, Punjab
The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest
shrine for Sikhs. The temple is covered with real gold, and its
peaceful surroundings make it an iconic symbol of serenity and
spirituality. The community kitchen (Langar) serves free meals to
thousands of people daily, regardless of caste or religion.
MEENAKSHI TEMPLE in Madurai, Tamil Nadu
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord
Sundareshwar (Shiva). Known for its stunning Dravidian
architecture, the temple has 14 towering gateways, decorated with
thousands of colorful sculptures. The temple is a major pilgrimage
destination and hosts the annual Meenakshi Tirukalyanam festival,
which attracts huge crowds.
