                                             WHAT IS FOOD ADULTERATION?
                                              Food adulteration happens when
                                              harmful or unwanted substances
                                               are added to food to increase its
                                           quantity or make it look better. These
                                            substances can make food unsafe for
                                                           our health.



                                         COMMON TYPES OF ADULTERATION:
                                         Milk: Water, detergent, or starch is added to
                                         increase quantity.
                                         Spices: Colored powders like lead chromate are
                                         mixed with turmeric or chili powder.
                                         Vegetables: Green leafy vegetables are
                                         sometimes coated with harmful synthetic colors.
                                         Sugar: White powdery substances like chalk
                                         powder may be added.

                                         used to make them look fresh and ripe.
