The villagers hurried to the school, wondering why the bell was
ringing on a holiday.
When they all reached the school, the teacher told them what the
three strangers were planning.
‘‘We can’t let them cut down the trees!’’ said the teacher. The
villagers rushed to the forest just as the men were about to cut
down Jamuni.
‘‘Stop! You can’t cut down the trees,’’ the villagers shouted. The
three men looked at the angry villagers. They got scared, dropped
their axes, and ran away as fast as they could.
Swami and Sajan had helped save Jamuni and the other trees in the
forest.
