A story about two mice who learn that a simple life can be
safer and happier than a rich but dangerous life.

Once, a little mouse lived in the countryside. He had a friend who

lived in the city. One day, he invited the City Mouse to his country

            house.

The City Mouse came to visit

            him. The Country Mouse

            greeted him warmly. He gave

him rice and wheat grains to

            eat.

‘‘Is that all you eat?’’ asked

            the City Mouse.

‘‘Come to the city. I will give

you many fine things to eat.

We have a good life in the

            city.’’

The little Country Mouse decided to visit the city to meet his

friend. The City Mouse greeted him. He took him to the kitchen.
