Go Beyond Creativity
Have you seen cards decorated with pressed leaves and flowers? Form
groups of four to create some exciting cards!
What you need :
v Some thick, heavy books v Leaves, grasses, and flowers
v Paper v Blank cards
v Glue
Steps :
1. Go to a nearby garden or park to collect leaves and flowers that can
be pressed. Try to choose a nice range of colours, if possible.
2. You can press them better if the flowers or leaves are flat. Observe:
v What patterns do you see?
v What colours? What shapes?
3. Place the leaves and flowers between two layers of paper and put
them inside a heavy book. Leave them for at least 4 to 5 days.
4. After that, you will have a collection of beautiful pressed leaves and
flowers.
5. Lay them out on a table or any flat surface. Choose the ones you
want to use.
6. Take your blank card and create a collage on the front by gently
applying glue to the pieces.
Display all the cards in the classroom.
Facilitator's Tip
Take the students to the school garden and ask them to name the flowers and their
colours.
