            Read the following sentences :


                                                   Simple Past Tense














                       The rain poured down.                                    The wind howled.


            In the above sentences, we add -d or -ed to the verb. We do this when we

            talk about actions that happened in the past. This is called the simple past

            tense.

            A.  Fill in the blanks with the simple past tense form of the verb given in
                 the brackets :


                 1.  Rohan                             (look) out of the window.

                 2.  The rain                             (stop).

                 3.  Rohan                             (live) in a house with a garden.


                 4.  Rohan                             (search) for the colours on the ground.

                 5.  Rohan                             (ask) his father about the colours.

            B.  What  did  you  do  yesterday  evening?  Describe  it  using  verbs  in  the

                 simple past tense.
