‘‘No, no, no,’’ says the stick, hopping out of the
rabbit’s mouth. Off he runs down the road –
clickety, clackety, clunk!
Then, the stick meets a farmer. ‘‘Hello, hello!’’
says the stick. ‘‘Do you need me, farmer dear?’’
‘‘Yes, yes,’’ says the farmer. He holds the
stick and beats a cow.
‘‘Mooouch!’’
Says the cow, crying
loudly. ‘‘No, no, no,’’
says the stick, hopping
out of the farmer’s hand, ‘‘Don’t hit
the cow.’’
The stick runs away – clickety-
clackety-clunk–down the road.
Then, the stick meets an old man.
‘‘Hello,’’ says the stick. ‘‘Do you need me, Grandpa dear?’’ ‘‘Oh, yes!
Good day! Fine day! Lucky day!’’ Says the old man, leaning on the
stick to walk. Clickety-clackety-clunk, they go together down the
road.
