Cracking Knuckles
             6. The cracking sound is produced when the joint

capsule is stretched, causing a sudden release of
gas (mainly nitrogen) that was dissolved in the
                     synovial fluid.

                                                      Yawning
                                               7. The exact cause of yawning is not fully understood,

but it is believed to involve increased oxygen intake,
cooling of the brain, or signaling transitions in
                                                      wakefulness.

                   Grinding Teeth (Bruxism)
             8. This noise is caused by the movement of the upper

and lower teeth against each other, often due to
stress, anxiety, or misalignment of the teeth.

                                                      Clicking Joints
                                                9. The sound is produced when tendons or ligaments

move over the bony structures or when gas bubbles
in the synovial fluid burst due to changes in joint
                                                       pressure.

                   Farting (Flatulence)
10 Gas is produced during digestion and fermentation

in the intestines. When the rectum is filled with
gas, it is expelled through the anal sphincter,
                     producing a sound.

Corporal or bodily noises, specifically stomach growling, is that the sound is known
as “borborygmi.” Growling sounds happen not just when you’re hungry but also
during normal digestion, as your gastrointestinal tract contracts to move food,
liquids, and gas along the digestive system. The sounds are simply louder when
the stomach is empty because there’s less material to muffle them.

                                                                                              25 — 8
